July 1, 1997! My first day as a new employee at the California Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General. You were my first friend. I sat next to you. The office used DOS and I'd used Windows so long I had forgotten the DOS prompts. You calmed me down, showed me things I had forgotten, demonstrated how things were done and allowed me to squeak by! Three years as my neighbor at work. We shared 40-hours a week. I met your son, visited you at your home, you baby sat Sophia, and we went to the office parties together and hit the town after work when you were free to do so. We shared secrets and kept them. Had each other's back and kept each other's head up! I'll miss you but I know you are getting everything organized and setting up yet another welcome for me, filled with the same care, concern, and kindness as you demonstrated the day we met. Making sure all is well, I'm not afraid, and we are good. Until we meet again, dear Janielle Jenkins, love, forever your Johnny Boy
