Janet Lee Dean's Obituary
Janet Lee Dean (nee Skalisky) was born in Sacramento, California on October 16, 1946 to the late Edwin Skalisky and Geraldine Price Skalisky. A graduate of C.K. McClatchy High School, Janet was a talented and popular beautician for many years and later a public servant with the County of Sacramento until her retirement in 2004. Janet enjoyed singing, gardening, cooking and camping with her family.
Janet met Alton Dean Jr. in 1973. They shared 44 loving years of marriage. They are proud parents to Shaun Sr., grandparents to Shaun Jr. and Demetrius, and great grandparents to Idris. Janet and Alton also were blessed with four additional children: Eugene, Swazerre, Tabitha, and Terrence; and 11 grandchildren: Dhanyal, Geremie, Mia, Tatiana, Myisha, Sha'Ron, Terrence Jr. Desiree, Danny Jr., Jeremiah, and Amber.
Janice is survived by her loving sisters June Skalisky Gillam and Jacki Skalisky Burdick; by siblings Richard Robeson, Stephanie Skalisky and Ed Skalisky; and by a multitude of loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
On December 21, 2020, Jesus called Janet home to Heaven. We will greatly miss her beautiful voice, her bright eyes and sweet smile, but we have the sure and certain hope of being together again with her in heaven.
Janet was a beautiful "free" spirit who loved her family. Janet had a gift of sensitivity and the ability to see beyond the surface into other's lives. Janet's gift allowed others to open up to her and share things that they wouldn't share with others. Janet was a gifted artist and loved the ocean with its vast beauty and peaceful waves. Janet appreciated the simple things in life like flowers, sights of the ocean, a hug from family, and time alone with her beloved husband, Alton Dean Jr. Janet's love encouraged and inspired her only child, Shaun Dean Sr., to become a humble, loving, caring and successful human being. Alton encouraged Janet to become a Christian and give her life to Jesus Christ. According to Romans 10:09, "if thou shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." May Janet and Alton rest in peace together and enjoy eternity in heaven with God and Jesus.
