James Mathew Lee's Obituary
James Mathew Lee born February 28, 1930 and passed away August 29, 2013. James was born in Oklahoma and moved to California with his family in 1942. He went through high school, played football and learned to play the trumpet. His love was sports and good music. he joined the Army and played his trumpet in the band. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean war and was honorably discharged in 1952. He then moved to Sacramento to live with his mom and dad. He helped care for them until their deaths. James never married and has no children. Due to his bad health, in 2004 we moved him to the Veteran’s Home in Yountville, CA. He made many friends there and came home to Rio Linda as often as he was physically able. His nephew Arnie and his wife Fina shopped for him and took up whatever he needed andtook him for rides and dinners out. Two of his special friends, Carla and Roy always checked on him. He loved to read, listen to music and play pool. In addition, he was great with crossword puzzles. He loved the family visits, but especially when his great great nieces Shyla and Alyla came. They hugged and kissed him and made him laugh. He will be greatly missed! He left behind two sisters, two nephews three great nephews, three great nieces, two great great nieces and two special friends. In times of trouble, his favorite saying was: “Let Go and Let God”.
