James H. Brower's Obituary
James H. Brower (Papa), a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away November 29, 2013 at the age of 83. James had been gallantly battling dementia for a number of years and he will be greatly missed.
James was born July 5, 1930 in Merced, CA. to James and Hyby Brower. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Mildred, his loving children, Susan (Dan), Stephen (Brenda), Tim (Pat) and Jennifer (Joel) as well as his six grandchildren, Ryan (Julissa), JaNai (Matt), Kacey, Tyler (Stacy), Abby and Joey. James will also be forever remembered by his six great-grandchildren, Tauri, Nathan, Avery, Evan, Adrian and Colin.
James retired from the Sacramento Sheriff’s Department and was very active in a number of Portuguese Organizations such as the O.D.E.S, S.P.H.S.S, S.E.S. Historical Society and our Lady of Fatima #1. He was also very active for many years with St. Elizabeth’s Catholic Church.
James will always be remembered for his unconditional love, care and support for family and friends.
All Services will be held at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 1817 12th Street, Sacramento: Rosary – Tuesday, December 10 at 7:00 p.m. and a mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, December 11 at 10:00 a.m. with a reception to follow in the church hall.
