Jacquelyn Elaine Arrington's Obituary
Jackie Arrington passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 11th, surrounded by her family.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by husband, Don; her children, Leslie and Jason; her daughter-in-law, Jennifer; and her granddaughters, Allison and Hannah.
Jackie was Born in Dover, New Jersey, on May 17, 1943, to Sol and Shirley Plotnick and moved to Long Beach, California, during her sophomore year of high school.
She graduating from Millikan High School and later attended California State University, Long Beach.
Jackie and Don married on July 19 1965 and loved each other for over 60 years.
She was a devoted mother to Leslie and Jason, whose lives were shaped by her constant encouragement, kindness, and unwavering support.
Jackie was a proud and loving grandmother to Allison Blaney and Hannah Arrington, who brought her immense joy and who will forever carry her love with them
Throughout her life, Jackie was deeply dedicated to her community, serving as a camp counselor for the Jewish Community Center in Long Beach and as a founding Teacher of the first Head Start program for Long Beach.
In Sacramento, she was a longtime volunteer for the Sacramento Children's Home and a vibrant member of the Heritage Park community.
Jackie will be remembered for her generous spirit, her advocacy for the marginalized, and her passion for travel, culture, and the arts. She exuded positivity and was unconditionally kind to everyone she met. Above all, she treasured time spent with family and friends, especially when sharing a meal and creating lasting memories.
Jackie will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love her.
