Jack W. ReedJack W. Reed, a retired mason, home builder, infantryman, and family man, died in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family on Monday, March 19, 2012. He was 88 years old. Born in Texas on September 24, 1923, he was a model member of the Greatest Generation-tough as nails, yet humble and dedicated to family and country. Jack met his wife of 57 years, Leona, in California’s Central Valley, served in Berma in WWII as a mule skinner infantryman, and was best known as a bricklaying contractor who built quality custom homes for 50 years. He is survived by his children; Donna, Mike, George and Dana; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and 1 great great granddaughter. Friends are welcome to attend the Graveside Service Friday, March 23, 2012 at 10:00am at Sunset Lawn Memorial Park, 4701 Marysville Blvd, Sacramento, CA.
