Iris Pauline Channell's Obituary
Iris Pauline Channell passed away peacefully in Carmichael, CA, on Saturday, November 12th, 2022, with her eldest daughter at her side. “Irie” was known for her generous spirit, her kind heart, her good advice, her sense of humor, and her abundance of love for her large family and many friends.
Born July 25th, 1945 in Sacramento County, she grew up in and spent most of her adult life in Rio Linda. As the iconic, longtime owner of Lew's Club she was very well known in her community, and she had a wonderful way of making people feel comfortable and important in her presence. She will be deeply missed, but her memory will go on through the countless lives she has touched.
Iris is preceded in death by her parents Rose and Raymond, her brother Ace, and her sisters Linda and Nonie. She is survived by her daughters Sunny and Kimberly, her son-in-law Dennis, her sisters Rose, Cakie, Brenda, Bobbie and Jerri, numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and the True Loves of her life, her much-adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A public visitation will be held November 28 from 4:30-6 p.m., and a service to celebrate this legendary lady will take place November 29 at 1 p.m. Both visitation and service are at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes, 4701 Marysville Boulevard in Sacramento. A potluck reception at the American Legion Hall, 6700 8th Street in Rio Linda, will immediately follow her service.
