Ida Green's Obituary
Ida A. Green, 98, of Sacramento went home to the Lord on December 18, 2025.
Ida was born on March 30, 1927, at her family home on Dwight Way in Berkeley to immigrant parents, Pasquale Accurso and Grazia Spingola, who hailed from Calabria, Italy. She was the youngest of four siblings and the only girl.
Born Ida Accurso, she was preceded in death by her three husbands: Harold N. Raymond, Arthur T. Brown, and Floyd E. Green. She will be laid to rest beside Arthur T. Brown.
Ida had four children: Carolyn J. Cassisi, Nancy J. Santos, Lynda J. Bartels, and Harold "Sam" Raymond (deceased). Ida also had 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and 23 nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her beloved parents, her three older brothers, her sisters-in-law, her only son, several sons-in-law, a granddaughter, a niece, and a few nephews.
Ida finished her studies at Berkeley High School. She always dreamed of owning a laundromat and eventually made that dream a reality with the "Wash and Shop" in Berkeley. She often brought work home, ironing clothes late into the night. She also worked as a cashier at Robertos Market in Richmond. In 1987, she relocated to Sacramento, California, where she spent the rest of her life. She was an active member of the Natomas Baptist Church. She loved going on cruises, having gone on 27 of them. In her later years, she eagerly anticipated playing BINGO at the senior center. In 2025, she renewed her driver's license and continued to drive right up until the day before she was hospitalized.
Ida was a source of inspiration for many and will be profoundly missed.
For all those Ida loved and who loved her back, we invite you to celebrate her life on January 16, 2026, at Natomas Baptist Church, located at 2813 Northview Drive, Sacramento. Viewing starts at 10:00 am, followed by services at 11:00 am at the same church. Afterward, there will be burial and a reception at Sunset Lawn Chapel, 4701 Marysville Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95838.
The family kindly requests that instead of flowers, donations be made to her church, Natomas Baptist Church.
