Henry Pittman's Obituary
PITTMAN, HENRYBorn May 7, 1926 in Pocahontas, Mississippi. Began his walk around heaven on May 26, 2006. Beloved husband for 66 years to Queen E. Pittman. Beloved father of 3 daughters, Min. Juanita Mason & husband Melvin, Linda Pittman, Tywanna Hendricks and husband Donald. Also two sons, Timothy Lewis Pittman Sr. and John Martin of Mississippi. Devoted grandfather to Cornelius Timmel Pittman and wife Tami, Tuesday Nolden and husband Victor, Antoine’ Ross, La Veeshia Pittman, LuCindy Pittman, Timothy Pittman Jr., Mark Anthony, Tremaine & Dominic Palmer, Tiara and Niara Hendricks, Victor, Keenan, Darrell, De Marcus, Tremon and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members and friends. He also leaves behind to mourn 3 sisters, Rebecca Stewart of Robbin, IL, Sarah Jones of Columbus, OH, Queen Benjamin of Marion, OH and two brothers Herman Pittman and wife Arnita of Marion, OH and Theolis Townsend and wife Ophelia. He was preceded in death by his mother and father Pearlie and Cliff Pittman, also 4 sisters and 1 brother and 1 step son. In 1968 he moved from Mobile, Alabama to Sacramento, California as he transferred from Brookly AFB to McClellan AFB where he retired after 31 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army and retired after 25 years of service with an honorable discharge. He received a BA, Masters and PhD of theology from the Sacramento Theological Seminary. He was a faithful member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where he served in numerous capacities. He loved playing checkers and gospel music. He was humble and compassionate toward all, the community has suffered a great loss and he will be dearly missed. Family and friends are invited to the wake on Sunday, June 4, 2006 from 4pm-8pm at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes, 4701 Marysville Blvd. Sacto., CA. The funeral will be held on Monday, June 5, at 11:00am at the Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 3407 Altos Ave. Sacto., CA. There will be a repast held at the Robertson Community Center immediately following the service.
