Gus was my father in law, a very good father in law. I will remember him always as a gentleman. I don't recall Gus ever saying a cuss word. He was always courteous & respectful, especially to women of all ages. He & his Lady had the gift of hospitality, making you feel welcome & making room for you at their table, sharing whatever they had. Gus was a man of deep faith in Christ & raised his children in church, sending his daughter to Christian school. I would often see him quietly reading his Bible & devotions. He really did live by the Golden Rule. He not only taught his 3 sons his trade in the flooring business but taught them also to be good husbands & fathers. I credit him & his Lady for the wonderful husband I was blessed with in Gerald, their middle son. Gus ate wisely, which is one reason why he lived so well for so long. I loved to see him & Lady dance. We all would sit & watch when they danced to the Tennessee Waltz. Thank you Gus for many wonderful memories & for welcoming me into your family back in 1965. I am grateful to be a Meidinger for all these years. Well done Gus Meidinger. And now you are with all your loved ones who have gone on before. See you there someday, Sandy.
