When I think about my sister Gladys I see her smiling face with twinkles in her eyes especially when her precious daughters were around her as well as her grandsons, granddaughters, and her two treasured great grand daughters. Gladys loved all her family and stood tall to help when she could and she did it with a loving heart. I think of her as a devotee to her pets over the years ... starting with the family cat “Mother Dear”, Bosco and Lilli (the poodles). The list went on throughout the years. In her working years she was admired, respected, and called upon to help those who needed help and she did with a tender caring heart. Gladys loved her Mother and Father too as well as all her siblings. Yes, when I think of my sister Gladys I feel blessed to have been her youngest sister. Gladys lived life with gusto, gratitude, and grace. To know Gladys was to love her. She was a peace-maker. And of all the love she felt and expressed she always loved her Lord and Savior with passion and reverence at the highest level.
I love my sister and I will miss her laugher, smile, sweet caring humor. She was fun to be with like the times we went to Leatherby’s for a ice cream sundae or a stop at the local See’s Candy store for a piece of See’s Candy to assuredly bring contentment.
Gladys enjoyed celebrating the holidays with her family from as far back that I can remember she always went all out for Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter, and 4th of July with fireworks plus making happy birthday celebrations for her loved ones. Yes, Gladys Galindo Cook lived, loved, laughed, learned, and leaves a legacy of LOVE.
We may all be comforted knowing Gladys rests in the sweet presence of Jesus and with her beloved Mother and Daddy Lito (her father). May her life serve as an example to all that Love is eternal and we will always love her, hold her in our hearts, and smile when we speak of her... my precious sister Gladys.
