Gerald Ronald Volk's Obituary
Gerald (Jerry) Ronald Volk, 81, of Fair Oaks, California, beloved husband and best friend of Rose Marie (Cicero) Volk for 62 years, passed away peacefully surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for, and loved, on April 12, 2015. He was born on July 23, 1933 in Erie, Pennsylvania.
He was predeceased by his parents Gerald and Lena (Serapini) Volk and his beloved sister Gloria Lucas.
Jerry was the general manager of Coors West in Redwood City, California where he retired after 15 years of service. He had many longtime clients, of which many became his close friends.
His passions in life were numerous. Jerry truly enjoyed playing the game of golf through his retirement years. Dancing the night away, playing softball for the senior softball team, card games and playing the slots at the local casinos were among his favorite pastimes. He was an avid sports fan, coaching his children’s sports activities, and was particularly fond of his 49ers and Giants. Jerry’s greatest passion was spending time with his family, supporting them in whatever they did. He truly touched so many lives…a great man, father, Papa and friend.
Besides his wife Rose Marie, Jerry is survived by his five children: Robin Volk of Fair Oaks, California; Ron and Laura Volk of Kilgore, Texas; Russ and Laura Volk of Shingle Springs, California; Rick and Iris Volk of Reno, Nevada; and Bobby and Kim Volk of Elk Grove, California; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held honoring Jerry on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mel Church, 4745 Pennsylvania Avenue, Fair Oaks, California.
We thank God for the gift of his life and the blessing of the time we spent with him.
