Gerald “Gary” Lloyd Beeson Sr
Gerald “Gary” Beeson passed away after a short and sudden illness on June 21, 2023.
Gary was born on January 31, 1941 to Harry E. Beeson and Ruth Lois Beeson (Witt) in Leadville, Colorado. He was the youngest of four brothers: Donald (Joanne), Kenneth (Sarah) and Keith (Becky). Gary and his family moved to California in 1943 and eventually landed in Tehachapi, California where he met Nancy Carroll Golden in high school and later married in 1960. Gary excelled in academics, auto mechanics and theater. He was remembered as always having a joke to tell and being a kind person.
Gary was drafted in 1966 and served two years in the military in Vietnam. He was the company clerk for the 93 Engineering Division and received an honorable discharge in 1968. Gary was father to both Gerald “Gary” Beeson Jr and Carroll Ann Beeson. Gary and Nancy divorced in 1975. Gary was also married to Diane Dylong-Beeson for 14 years until they divorced. In 1995, Gary reconnected with an old High School friend, Joy Lafern Dyess and were married soon afterward.
Gary was employed with the California Portland Cement company and started as a terminal operator and worked his way up to Transfer Terminal Plant Manager. He attended college and earned a degree from Ohlone College and an MBA from Saint Mary’s College of California. He retired and went on to buy and manage his own properties and some other business ventures.
Sadly, in 2017, Gary lost of the love of his life, Joy. 5 short years later, he joined her and his passed family members and friends in peace and love. He was also proceeded in death by his mother and father, brothers Donald and Kenneth, step sons Kevin Reagan, Larry Reagan and Shawn Reagan and grandson Joshua Formo. He is survived by brother Keith, children Gerald (Lisa) and Carroll (Mike), grandchildren Devyn Beeson, Aspyn Beeson-Brown, Breckyn Beeson-Brown, Emagyn Beeson-Brown, James Beeson, Stephen Beeson, Laura Beeson, Ryan Reagan (Sophia), Jessica Reagan-Sanchez (Mike), Richard Formo (Christa) and great grandchildren Luke, Kameron, Landon, Rafe, Athena and Isabel.
