George Louis Engelmann's Obituary
George Engelmann
Dad, Grandpa, Uncle George, Friend, passed away surrounded by his family on March 25, 2018, just shy of 95 years of age. He was preceded by his loving wife and partner of 53 years, Nellie; and his youngest daughter, Karen. He leaves behind three children, (Linda Luckett, Kathy Engelmann, and George Engelmann, Jr.); 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was born in Brooklyn, New York, and served in the Army Air Corp in WWII. After 73 years in the Sacramento area he still had his Brooklyn accent. He settled in Carmichael and spent his career at Western Electric where he retired after 33 years in management. He was a family man and a skilled craftsman who devoted much of his to making things for family and friends. His home was always open and he was always happy to see you. George made people happy and was a real Hero to his family and many others. Heaven is a little better now!
Services will be held at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes on April 6th at 1:00 PM, 4701 Marysville Blvd., Sacramento. A reception will follow at the family home. Viewing will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM on April 5, 2018.
