Gary Allen Frost's Obituary
FROST, GARY ALLEN “Our Mighty Warrior.” “In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:6. Gary, age 45, suffered a heart attack and was called home by Our Lord on Friday, Sept. 2, 2011 at 2:30am, where he was surrounded by his loving family and a host of friends in the E.R at Mercy San Juan Hospital. He was born on August 8, 1966 in Sacramento, Ca to Allen and Irene Frost. He attended elementary school in the Robla School District and was a 1984 graduate of Rio Linda High School. Gary was an avid sportsman. He played on the Rio Linda Little League/All Star Baseball, high school baseball and football teams. He loved going pheasant and duck hunting, fishing and camping with his father and friends. In high school, Gary really valued taking many types of shop classes which included woodcraft, metal, welding, auto mechanics, etc. His father, Allen Frost, attended Adult Night School which was provided by McClellan Air Force Base and in turn, taught Gary appliance and air conditioning repair. Gary is survived by his loving wife JoLinda of 23 years, treasured daughter Desiree Deanne, treasured son Gary Allen Jr., mother Irene Frost, sister Karen Scott, mother-in-law Jo Ann Steuart, and grandmother Perina Cole. He is also survived by numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends and vast church family. He is preceded in death by his loving father Allen Frost, grandparents Roy & Catherine West, and Ernie & Evelyn Nygaard, and father-in-law Walter Steuart. As the Drilling Supervisor, Gary was a 20 year very loyal, dedicated and versatile employee of Eaton Drilling Co., Inc. located in Woodland, Ca. He thoroughly enjoyed spending quality time with his family and friends - especially summer camping and boating vacations. His interests included many church functions, and gardening. He was an avid gourmet BBQ master. He was a mightily devoted compassionate man of God and a member of the Church of God 7th Day, North Fellowship for the past 21 years. He never knew a stranger and was always “there to lend a helping hand” anytime, anywhere, and to anyone in need. He was such a kind and gentle soul, a man of true and genuine character. He loved everyone and will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him. Viewing will be held on Friday, September 9, 2011 from 4:00-8:00pm at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes 4701 Marysville Blvd., Sacramento 916-922-5833. His sister Karen Scott will be there to greet you. A Celebration of Gary Allen’s Life will be held on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at 3:00pm at the Church of God 7th Day, 5501 Dewey Dr., Fair Oaks, Ca. Officiating the service will be Pastor Jerry Camero. There will be no graveside services. “Life is not about the amount of time we’re given, but what we did with the time we had.”
