Fuafiva Faanu Tuanaitau 1974-2014
Fiva Tuanaitau of Sacramento passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the age of 40. Fiva, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, was born on June 3rd, 1974 to Faanu and Betty Tuanaitau in Santa Rosa, CA.
As a small child he lived in Hawaii until he and his family relocated back to California, making Sacramento their home. During his teen years Fiva attended Grant High School where he played football and earned himself the nicname of “Primo” among his friends. After graduation from Grant in 1992 he went on to attend Sac State University for a short time. While attending college he joined the Zeta Omega Psi Fraternity where his new found fraternity brothers donned him, “Chewy”. As he began performing locally as a bass guitar player for the band, “Mr. Gorsky” yet another nickname began to surface: “The Samoan Bass Player.” He would later become known as “DJ Five” by family, friends and acquaintances. For the past two years of his life you would have found DJ Fiva every Friday night, doing what he loved, performing Karaoke at the 145 Club in Rio Linda.
On September 3rd, 2005 Fiva married the love of his life, Renae Anderson. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Sacramento LDS Temple on September 1st, 2007. One of Fiva’s greatest accomplishments in his life was becoming a Father. His wife Renae gave birth to their daughter Lianapeti on January 29, 2008. Her birth brought a new chapter in Fiva’s life.
He truly learned the meaning of unconditional love as he held little Liana for the first time. She would grow to become his little Angel and more than Anything, “Daddy’s Girl”.
Fiva, the owner and founder of “Big Top Karaoke and DJ”, is know as a man of many talents. As a DJ, bass guitar player, singer, comedian, home cook, MC and a genuine caring person, he had the ability to make all those who surrounded him laugh, smile, and feel at home. He was a natural performer with an undying love of 80’s amd Reggae music, especially the group Morrissey. Fiva forever sought to bring happiness to the lives of others. He was a man of Love, faith and kindness.
Fiva is survived by his wife: Renae Tuanaitau; Daughter: Lianapeti Tuanaitau; Siblings: Sialiitu Lutu Jr., Joshua and “Pookl” Tuanaitau; Father Faanu Faasip Tuanaitau and many friends and family. He was preceded in death by his mother Betty Tuanaitau; and sister: Oliana Lutu Topley.
