Fredric Van Ornum, born on August 29, 1956, in Glendale, California, to Earl and Mildred Van Ornum, passed away peacefully on May 14, 2025, in Granite Bay, California, at the age of 68.
Fred spent his life working as a machinist, building engines with precision and pride. His passion for racing was lifelong, and he rarely missed a night at the track. He also enjoyed fishing and was a faithful fan of the LA Dodgers.
He is survived by his sons, Jeff (Cheryl) Van Ornum and Mark Van Ornum, and his granddaughters, Kacee and Madison, who brought him endless joy. He is also survived by his twin brother, Eric Van Ornum, and his sisters, Jan Macias (Mike) and Karen Van Ornum, along with many nieces and nephews who will always remember his quiet humor and steady presence.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mildred, and by his beloved dog, Maddie, who was never far from his side.
He will be remembered as a loyal friend, a loving father and grandfather, and a man who lived simply, loved deeply, and left behind memories that will be cherished forever.
A celebration of life BBQ will be held with family and friends. A gathering just the way Fred would have wanted it, filled with shared memories and good company.
