Fred W. Jones 1935 - 2022
Fred William Jones, 86 of Rio Linda, California, passed away of natural causes on Monday, July 11, 2022. Fred was born in Springville, Utah to Thomas William Jones and Birdie Riches Jones. He graduated from Springville High School in 1953. As a young man, he enlisted in the Navy and served honorably during the Korean War. After serving his tour of duty, Fred married Linda Yvonne Cram on February 15, 1958. Fred and Linda were married for 64 years. The life they built together included 5 Children, 15 Grandchildren and 11 Great-Grandchildren. Fred is survived by his son Gary Jones and daughters Charlotte Blount and Donna Alvarez. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Linda, son Philip Jones, son Samuel Jones and Grandson Joseph Jones. Fred worked in management positions for Pacific Bell Telephone and Western Corrections. He also held various leadership positions within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was a well-respected member of the community and an avid fisherman. A combined memorial service for Fred and Linda Jones will be held at the Sunset Lawn Funeral Home on Friday, August 12th at 10am.
