Flossie M. Huguley 99, passed away on Thursday, June 22 in Sacramento, CA
Flossie was born on August 23, 1917 in Madison County Kentucky, she was the daughter of Sam and Nannie Turner both preceded her in death. She was married to Homer James Huguley, Sr., for 36 years who preceded her in death. She had five children. Homer James Huguley, Jr., and Elizabeth Don Handy who preceded her in death. She was a member of Murph Emmanuel AME Church in Sacramento, California. She was a Kentucky Colonel and an Eastern Star.
Survivors include: one daughter, Marilyn (Huguley) Chenault of Sacramento, CA, and two sons Vernon Douglas of Cincinnati, OH and Garnett Samuel Huguley (Cynthia) of Marietta, GA. 19 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren 5 great, great grandchildren, one niece Lenora Simmons , two Sister-In-Law’s, Helen Embry, and Mary Parks and other relatives. Flossie was a caregiver for her mother for many years. She enjoyed life, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, family and friends. Flossie loved her pets, good food, traveling, gardening, decorating her home; making flower arrangements, she collected antiques and whatnots; she had the skill of a seamstress as she sewed dresses and outfits for herself and her children. She had the fashion taste of a New York or Paris fashion professional. She was always well dressed for the occasion. She was blessed by God with good health and a long life.
