Fernando Matta Arriaga's Obituary
Fernando (Fred) Matta Arriaga passed away in Roseville, CA on July 15, 2022. He lived most of his life in the Sacramento area. He met his wife Virginia Arriaga in Denver, Colorado where they were married. He worked for General Produce Company and retired in 2017 after over 40 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his mom Juana (2020), his dad Fermin (1979) and his sister Angela (1963).
He is survived by his wife Virginia, daughter Angela Arriaga-Simpson, son-in-law Joel Arriaga-Simpson; granddaughters Isabella & Selena Arriaga Simpson; brother Gilbert Arriaga and sister-in-law Florencia, his 4 sisters Raquel, Henrietta, Patricia and Linda; 5 Duran sisters-in-law Josie, Joann, Ruth, Lola, and Elizabeth and 5 Duran brothers-in-law Johnny, Herman, Richard, Eustachio, and Cliff; goddaughter Pearl Arriaga as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Fred will be remembered for his love of the ocean, boating, fishing and RV trips. His devotion to his mom and his loved ones. We will remember his story telling of his childhood growing up traveling throughout the United States, his love of Elvis and music of the 1950’s and 1960’s and his devotion to his family in pursuit of the American Dream.
A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 17 @ 6:00PM at St. Clare Catholic Church (Morris Center), 1950 Junction Blvd, Roseville, CA 95747
