Evelyn Dean Widener's Obituary
Evelyn Dean (Lewis) Widener passed away on June 30, 2012 at age 76 of Advanced Parkinson Disease. Survived by brothers Brian Lewis and Lawrence Don Lewis, and sister Rita Mattero and many nieces and nephews. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband Neil Widener, parents Roy Edgar Lewis and Kitty (Britt Lewis) Ward, step-father Cullen Ward, Her brothers Bill and James Ward and her niece Vicki Dillon.Evelyn was born October 3, 1935 in Levelland, Texas. She lived in Levelland until 1946 when her family moved to Sacramento, California. A graduate of El Camino High School’s first graduating class of 1954. She was married to Neil Widener for 33 years. At age 39 years she was diagnosed with Parkinson Disase. She was relentless in her pursuit for a quality life in spite of her Parkinsons. As a testament to her determination. she lived with this debilitating disease for 38 years. She touched the lives of all who knew her and will be sadly missed by her family. a funeral service followed by burial will be held July 9, 2012 at 1:00 pm at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes, 4701 Marysville Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95838In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA). www.apdaparkinson.org/
