Evelyn Raines Tunker's Obituary
Evelyn Raines Tunker, 96, passed away suddenly on December 22nd, 2018 in Sacramento, CA with her loving family at her side. Evelyn was born on June 17th, 1922 to Charlie and Hester (McCrain) Raines (the eldest of ten children) at Landrum, SC. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her children: Evelyn Janell Fowler, Boyce Carol Fowler, William Creighton Fowler, and Paul Julian Fowler; her brothers and sister: Paul Julian Raines Sr., Mrs. Mildred Mirl Tiner, Jimmie Charles Raines, Henry Franklin Raines, Clyde Jaronia Raines, and Leon Arnold Raines.
Evelyn worked many years as a missionary in Mexico and in evangelistic ministries in Oregon. She was always reading her Bible until her eye sight failed. She was a mighty prayer warrior whose prayers were answered and people were healed under her prayerful anointing.
Evelyn is survived by her daughters: Mrs. Donna J. Stracener of Dallas, TX, Mrs. Norma G. Pauley of Sacramento, CA, and Mrs. Molly J. Shepard of McAllen, TX; son, C. Felton Kerby of Floresville, TX; sisters: Mrs. Helen G. Arledge of Au Gres, MI, Mrs. Sylvia J. Stewart of Taylor, SC, and Mrs. Cecila Mae Miller of Landrum, SC. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes on Wednesday, January 16th, 2019 at 1:00 P. M. Committal will be at Camellia Memorial Lawn following the services.
