Edgar Fox's Obituary
Edgar Clayton Fox
Born 2/28/24; Wister, Oklahoma. Everlasting: 7/4/24 in Rio Linda, California.
Veteran of WWII US ARMY
With deep sadness I am sad to announce that my Father passed away on the morning of July 4, 2014 in Rio Linda, Ca. Dad was a life member of American Legion Post 521; Haggin-Grant for 55 years and was also a life member of the VFW in North Highlands, Ca. As with most of the young men of his generation he served our great nation during WWII. From a ground pounder to flying the P-51 to the jungles of the Philippines he served his country honorably.
His journey began in Wister, Oklahoma where his family endured the great depression and the dust bowl of 1930’s. The dust bowl created additional hardships that drove the family to seek the land of opportunity in California.
As a son and father I am proud to have been a part of his life and that he lived for 90 years. His wisdom, kindness and unwavering friendship will be missed by all who knew him.
One of his cherished moments was excitement that his grandson Michael had recently became the Detachment Commander for the Sons of the American Legion. Michael and his grandfather shared a special bond in that Michael was a certified Electrician. Dad had spent most of his civilian life in the electronic field working for the US government in installing Radar installations around the World. Whenever they were together they or actually Dad would tell the stories in the language that was part of their culture.
He also loved to see his granddaughters Tisha, Linda and JoAnn as each of them always had something to share with him that would always make him proud.
Dad leaves behind son Ned and favorite daughter-in-law Debbie, the daughter he never had, his son Owen, seven grandchildren; Tisha, Linda, JoAnn, Michael, Sylvia, Crystal and Tina. Nineteen Great grandchildren; Nate, Miriah, Myles, Ty, Taylor, Hailey, Jeremy, Brandon, Alynna Kaci, Alyssa Kali, Izzy, Skye, numerous nieces and nephews and companion Georgia Timmerman along with the many friends who he had touched during his life.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that a donation be made to VA&R (Veterans Affairs & Rehabilitation).
