Dorothy Kam Inn Pacheco's Obituary
Dorothy Kam Inn Pacheco, 85, resident of Rio Linda CA, went home to be with the Lord on January 22, 2015. She was born in Honolulu Hawaii on September 11, 1929, the daughter of Kong Luke and Ngit Moi Yim. Dorothy was in good company with four brothers and sisters, Charlotte, David, George, and Howard. Dorothy grew up in the islands. Among many odd jobs growing up, she pealed ginger and picked pineapples to help as she could with the family. She enlisted in the United States Air Force right after High School where she did data processing on a state-of-the-art punch card IBM computer. She later met and married Edward Pacheco who was also in the United States Air Force. After serving her country, and being blessed with two wonderful daughters, Dorothy and Ed settled down in the Sacramento, CA area to raise their family after Ed retired from Active Duty. She later went on to work as a Supply Clerk and Inventory Specialist at McClellan Air Force Base. Dorothy loved investing, Real Estate, and health and fitness activities. She even got her black belt in Karate. She loved to have lunch and spend time with her friends at Thunder Valley. She also liked to go to the local Community Center and walked the bicycle trails with her friends on a regular basis. One of her favorite activities was enjoying Dim Sum with friends and family and having a nice hot bowl, or two, of Won Ton soup. She used to say the good soup was worthy of having two bowls. Dorothy took pride in the garden and fruit trees that she and Ed grew, and were always generous in sharing their bounty with family and friends. Dorothy was preceded by her sister Charlotte Ho and brother George Luke. She was survived by her husband Edward Pacheco; her brothers David Luke and Howard Luke; her two daughters, Edna Pacheco and Edith Bohlke (Raymond); grandson Kristofer Pacheco (Kimberly). A graveside memorial service will be held Monday, February 2, 2015, 11:30 am at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, CA, 95620.
