Doris Koen's Obituary
On February 8, 1933, Doris Koen was born to Lawrence and Carolina Koen of Mobile (Loxley) Alabama, (a devoted wife of 61 years). He gave his life to Christ at Franklin Street Baptist Church under the leadership of U.J. Robinson.
On December 31,1956, Doris was united in marriage to Mary Lee Ervin at Mobile Alabama. From this union came five children: Clarence Koen (Deceased), Carl Koen, Mary A. Koen (Brown), Doretha Koen and Vincent B. Koen.
Doris was drafted in the in the United States Army on May 13, 1953, at Mobile Alabama, served two years and was Honorably discharged at Mobile, Alabama, May 13, 1955. After completing his military enlistment Doris attended culinary and baking school.
Upon arriving in Sacramento California, Doris and his family established residence in Strawberry Mannor, Sacramento, California. He and his family later moved to 173 Fairbanks Avenue, Sacramento, California where he lived until his passing on
January 22, 2024.
Doris Koen was preceded in death by his parents Lawerence and Carolina Koen, Four-Brothers, Sam Koen, Bud Koen Ernest (Mann) Koen, and Burnell (Koolum) Koen; One-Sister Blunzena Steele, and his Loving and Devoted wife of 55 years Mary Lee Koen.
He is survived by two sisters-Coradean Jenkins, Mary Helen Hardy of Loxley Alabama; Eighteen Grandchildren-Tyrone, Randy, Buck Lee, Clarence, Todd, Anthony, Adrian, Benjamin, Sharay, Kelly, Lorraine, Andre, Samatha, Reginald (Reggie)Brown, Ausha Jones, Tareava Jones, and Dennard Ingram; Fourteen Great Grandchildren; One Brother-In-Law Erthia Johnson; Two Sisters-In-law Geraldine Johnson and Carolyn King; One Son-In-Law Elmer Brown (Mary A), One Daughter-In-Law Trina Koen (Vincent B), and a host of nieces and nephews, friends and associates.
