Donald Roy Turnbow Jr.'s Obituary
Donald Roy Turnbow Jr. was born on December 1, 1972, in Sacramento, California. He was a kind, gentle, and caring soul who found joy in the simple things in life. Animals were always close to his heart—he shared his home over the years with many furry companions. At the time of his passing, he had his loyal dogs, Lady and Rosie, and his cat, Cocoa, by his side. Donald enjoyed riding his bike, recycling, and fixing things. For 28 years, he shared a loving home in American Canyon, California, with Sharon Rodrigues, building a life filled with love and laughter. On May 24, 2025, at 3:16 p.m., Donald passed away peacefully at Queen Valley Hospital. He leaves behind his sister Teresa Turnbow, brother Mike Shanks, and his cousins Paul Irmscher and Wendy Shanks. He was a special uncle to Crystal Phillips, Terri Phillips, Vanna Phillips, Hollie Phillips, and John Rowland (Jamie). Donald also held a special place in the lives of his great-nieces and nephews: Levi Schmidt, Skyler Phillips, Brody May, Audrina Varela, Alex Rowland, Lillianna Rowland, Cadence Dunlap, Chloe May, Remi May, and Joslyn Isenbart. Donald’s cousins Dave, Danny, Leona, and Charlie Turnbow, along with their families—including Haley Turnbow—will always hold him close in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresita Jennell Alonso; his parents, Donald and Margie Turnbow; his grandparents, Roy and Betty Turnbow and J.B. and Elsie Mackey; his sister, Gina Marie Kelly Rowland; John Rowland Sr., and Mike Shanks Jr., who passed away earlier this year on May 4, 2025. Donald’s warm heart, gentle nature, and sense of humor will be missed by everyone who knew him. His memory will live on in the stories we share and the love he gave us all.
