Donald "Rocky" Kennedy's Obituary
DONALD EUGENE KENNEDY (ROCKY) was born on August 31, 1941, near Erie, Pennsylvania. He came to California when he was 8. He joined the Navy at 17, after which he married and raised his three adopted sons. Rocky settled in the Rio Linda area about 35 years ago. He led a very interesting life. He was everything from a Navy swimmer to a Las Vegas card dealer, to a quick-draw competitor, and a shoe chain store owner, to name just a few aof his endeavors.Rocky leaves behind his loving wife, Norma-Lee; three sons, Ron, John, and Tom; and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was well respected in the community and even served one year as the Honorary Mayor of Rio Linda/ Elverta. He will be missed by his many, many friends.Services will be held at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes, 4701 Marysville Blvd, Sacramento, CA. A viewing will be held from 4 until 8 pm on Thursday, December 29, 2011 and the Funeral Service will be Friday, December 30, 2011 at 10:00 am. A reception will follow at the Elkhorn Moose Lodge 2060, 6003 Rio Linda Blvd, Rio Linda, CA. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Moosehaven through the Elkhorn Lodge.
