Dolores deAnda's Obituary
Who was Mom, Grandma, Dolores
She was a humble, loving, kind, compassionate & ever-so-forgiving beautiful mother; Our Queen – La Reigna. Mom loved all her family; from here to Aguascalientes. She dearly loved our dad, Elias, until the day she left. They share the same going-home anniversary of May 25th. She loved spending time in Mexico as life allowed & traveling many places and staying in as many hotels as possible; spending time with her dearest friends from work: Sibyl and Katherine; being with her Comadres & Tias and cousins from all over. She loved all her children & grandchildren – From the eldest, Dona, to the youngest, Caleb.
Eating out was always a way to make her day! Chevy’s, Cheesecake Factory & Olive Garden were just a few of her favorites. We can’t forget the winery and her love of tiramisu.
Mom especially loved her church. She volunteered for many years with the Guadalupanas helping to make menudo and tamales. She & Frank went for many years and made some wonderful memories.
Moving forward in years; she spent 20 plus years with Edna after the passing of Dad. Ultimately, living together in Mom’s home. They kept one another in much peace & happiness. Mom grew very close to Edna during this time and missed her deeply when she went to our Lords home.
December 12, 2009, Mom found another room-mate – Me; Diane. So began many changes for the both of us! I swore to Mom that I would never leave her, nor ever put her into a home! By the Grace of God, I kept my word. She became my new BFF. We shared so many things about each other; the time was spectacular. We became buddies. I learned how much I was like her in many ways.
Towards the end of 2013, Mom was diagnosed with Dementia. It was terrifying. Yet, changes were not noticeable for several years. Slight and slow coming; we continued to live as normal as possible.
Time came that Charly & I decided to move us home with him. More changes – so hard on Mom. Alzheimer’s does not like change. We continued as normal as possible. It is an ugly and horrific disease. Mom slowly slipped these last two years into another world. Yet, there were times she was completely mentally here. She is resting now & forever.
– Missing your beautiful smile. ~ Diane
