Over forty-eight years ago I stood at my sister’s side as she married David. She was just a young girl, barely eighteen as she promised to stand by him through good times and bad. They started their young lives together that day, and I also started my life with him as his added sister. You live a lot of life in 48 years. We went through our youth together, exciting times of buying a first home, having children, figuring out careers, sharing life. David knew he would be a mechanic, that’s what he loved doing, He enjoyed work and made a living for his family doing what he loved. Middle age came and we found ourselves with teenagers and young adults, trying to guide them through life. A big part of David’s parenting was sharing with his daughters what he enjoyed. Playing music and singing. Can you imagine how wonderful it was for his daughters to have a Daddy that sang songs to them all their life, filling their home with music. Before he knew it the grandchildren came. A boy and a girl, his loves! So much fun with them when they were little, as they grew he taught them how to handle a car, how to work on it and keep it running, They both picked up his love for music and have beautiful voices. Singing around the house will always be a part of their life because of David. Old age comes all to fast, illness made it impossible for David to work anymore, and it broke his heart to leave his job. As his health got worse, Zona kept her promise and was by his side, helping him in any way she could. Isn’t that what a real marriage is, going through good and bad times together. You lived a full life David, thank you for sharing it with us. You rest now and I’ll see you later.❤️
