Hatton, David Lee's Obituary
David Lee Hatton, age 74, surrounded by his loved ones, peacefully entered his Heavenly home after a long battle with cancer Nov. 12, 2024. Loving husband for 53 yrs to Rosemary (Jones) and father to Nathan, Daniel, Joel, Jeremiah, Micah, Deborah, Anna, Samuel, Amos, Elizabeth, Zachary, and Isaiah; grandfather to 19, and gr. grandfather to 3. He is dearly missed.
Born in Bloomington, IN, and raised in Hayward, CA, he graduated from Sunset High School. He is proceeded in death by his parents Ora Lee Hatton and Lois Ann (Brown), and sister Mary and brothers Ken and John, and survived by his sister Linda.
While living in the Bay Area, he became an Emergency Room Registered Nurse at Kaiser Hayward, and then after moving to Sacramento he worked in Labor and Delivery receiving the Daisy Award for Outstanding Nurse. With his nursing education credits he became a certified message therapist. He had also received an MA from New College Berkeley in Cross-Cultural Studies. He later was ordained in the Wesleyan Church and ministered as a bi-vocational pastor to seniors at Eskaton Village in Carmichael. He retired from nursing after 34 years, continuing a prayer ministry after his pastoral retirement.
Besides living life to the fullest by serving and helping others, he enjoyed many other interests and activities including art, waterfall hiking, and sharing his insights and humor to the end in poetry and writings which can be found at [email protected]. and on Amazon.
A celebration of life service is being held Dec. 14 at Faith Legacy Church, 1 p.m.
