Charlie M. Edmond, Jr.'s Obituary
Charlie Marshall Edmond Jr., the only son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Charlie M. Edmond Sr. was born on May 21m 1938 in Belton TX. Charlie was a proud student of Harris High School in Belton where he graduated. He joined the Mount Zion United Methodist Church at an early age and served the community.
Charlie attended Prairie View College and majored in auto mechanics. At the tender age of 18 he joined United States Air Force and after some 20 years of service he retired. He later met the love of his life and married Luevinea Jones in 1969. While being active in the military this allowed Charlie and Luevinea to travel the world visiting different countries and sight seeing, something that Charlie enjoyed immensely. While visiting the many different countries Charlie collected many artifacts to add to his collection back home in the United States. Charlie was a very hard-working person and loved people and they in return loved him.
Charlie was employed by Beale AFB where his travels also took him to places such as Thailand, Germany,
Berg, Turkey, England and Paris over a four year span. He also worked as a civilian for McClellan AFB as an Inventory Management Supervisor where he retired after some 16 years of service. Charlie was never one to sit idle, he was a true go-getter, working for Century 21 for 18 years as a Real Estate Agent. Charlie loved his sports and played softball, pitching for many years while in the military. He and his lovely wife bowled for many years in a bowling league at McClellan AFB, two people who enjoyed the game. Marshall, as everyone called him, was an avid die-hard Oakland Raiders and Sacramento Kings fan. His favorite foods were BBQ, fried chicken and candied yams, his favorite dessert was ice cream. Charlie (Marshall) was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. & Mrs. Charlie M. Edmond Sr., and sister Thetis Edmond. Charlie leaves to cherish his memories, his lovely wife of 44 years Luevinea Edmond, sister Cheryl Edmond of Prairie View, TX, daughter Charlotte Island, sons Michael and Carl Edmond, all of Compton, CA, 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
