Charles Anthony Pepper's Obituary
Charles Anthony Pepper, A.K.A as “Tony or Rasta” was born on December 24, 1952 in Washington, DC, to the proud parents Pearl Louise Ellis Pepper and Walter Paul Pepper. He was the youngest of three children. Charles grew up in the “Church of the Living God” and was baptized at an early age.
He graduated from Grant High School with a contract to play baseball for the ‘San Francisco Giants”. Shortly after graduating, in 1976 he would go on to marry Betty J. Turner and they would add two children, Darrick and Sharmain to their union. Later Tony would complete his union with another beautiful daughter Tiffany Pepper.
After several years playing baseball he worked for the City of Sacramento; even aiding his family out of the 1986 floods of the Strawberry Manors. Tony loved camping, fishing and working on his cars. A talent inherited from his mother was making his own clothing. He said he just could never find what he wanted in stores. He loved his family, siblings, children, nieces, nephews and his especially his grandchildren. He had many friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Sharmain Pepper-Pruitt and Tiffany Pepper, son-in-law Ronald Pruitt Jr, daughter-in-law Tenisha Harris Pepper, one sister Brenda Pepper-Thomas, brother-in-law Pastor Robert Thomas, and sister-in-law Maxine Pepper. Five grandsons, Davonte Pepper, Phe’Leycion & Dee-Juan Pruitt, Jabari and Kwaelyn Pepper. Three grand-daughters, Tifasha Pepper, Rayona Wilkins and Colisha Harris. Three nieces, Tamu & Pearl Pepper and Joy Thomas. Three nephews, David & Cabral Thomas and Derrick Pepper. One living Aunt Joan Terrel of Washington, DC. Five great grand-daughters, three great grandsons and host of cousins and friends.
Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Walter & Pearl Pepper, his son Darrick M. Pepper, his brother Walter E. Pepper and several aunts, uncles, relatives and friends.
