Charles Lewis King's Obituary
Charles (Chuck) King, surrounded by loved ones, peacefully entered into rest at the age of 82 on June 3, 2013 in West Sacramento. Beloved husband of Sandra King, loving father of Cheryl King, Pam Pittman (Carl), Karrie Calles (Rodney) and Penny Servis (Gary). Caring grandfather to six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Dear brother of John King (Nita) and Carol Scott. Treasured uncle to his nieces and nephews.
Chuck was born in Seattle, Washington on July 3, 1930 and in 1939 became a long time resident of West Sacramento, where he was a friend to many. Anyone who knew Chuck knew he was a veteran of the United States Navy, an active member of the local VFW, loyal to his country and honored the men and women of our armed services. Chuck became a member of the IBEW 340 on April 6, 1951 and worked on several large electrical projects across the Unites States, including the Alaska Pipeline. During his working years, Chuck secured lifelong friendship with many people in his trade. Chuck was very generous to anyone who needed a helping hand and gave the gift of life by personally donating 859 pints of blood. He was a good man with a personality larger than life, which leaves us with many fond memories and humorous stories.
A celebration of Chuck’s life will be held on June 23, 2013, 2:00 pm at the VFW Hall, 905 Drever Street, West Sacramento, CA 95691. Donations may be made in Chuck’s name to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
