Charles Edward Bradley's Obituary
Charles E. Bradley, 84, died Monday May 8th surrounded by his family. Born May 31, 1932, in Lynchburg, Virginia to the late Lloyd O. and Allie Bradley Clark. He graduated from Dunbar High School in 1950.
Charles served in the Air Force where he was a Radar Tech. He was employed by the State of California as a Job Agent until his retirement. He was very active in the Del Paso Heights community for many years and served on many committees. He is a former Grant Pacer Booster Club member, and Progressive Elks Lodge member. He was also City Councilman for District 2 in 1988, a position in which he proudly served.
He was an active member at Allen Chapel AME Church for over 50 years. In his later years he enjoyed spending time with his family and working in his garden and cooking.
Charles is survived by his wife of 64 years Fronces, daughters Kathryn and Bronwyn (Lamar); grandchildren Lashanda and James (Erin), bonus granddaughters April and Sabrina. Great-grandchildren Justin, Semaj, Camiyah, Ahnaejah, Anquan Charles and bonus great-grandchildren Elijah, Samarah and Shamar. Sisters Mary Smith (Harry), Martha Featherson (James Sr.) of Lynchburg VA. Brothers Clyde T. Clark Sr. (Marjorie) of Lynchburg, VA, and George Bradley of Dover, DE. Sister in law Ophelia Banks of Lynchburg, VA. He leaves several nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.
Mr. Bradley was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Allie Clark, brothers Harry, William and Lloyd and sisters in law Clyda and Rosa. Mother and father in law Lonnie T. and Mamie L. Banks, Brothers in law David, Hugh, Emmitt, Alvin and Roger Banks and sisters in law Emma and Oceal Banks.
Funeral Services will be private. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Allen Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1239 Grand Avenue with Reverend Robin T. Hood officiating.
