Bill Stidman's Obituary
Today we mourn the untimely passing of a good man, father, Marine and beloved husband. Bill Stidman is survived by his loving wife, Jean, his four children, Joseph, Brian, Paricia and Zachary, his stepson Phillip and his five beautiful grandchildren. Bill honorable serviced his country as a Marine and his community as a police officer. He had a beautiful love for his family, protecting them without fail. He died as he would have wanted…a Marine…in Combat. Bill is and always will be deeply missed. Services will be held at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes, 4701 Marysville Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95838 on Monday June 23, 2014 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Wounded Warrior Project in memory of Bill Stidman.
It has crossed my mind this day
That you can’t see what’s going on
You slipped out and floated away
Without hearing this little song
So I can now only assume
That you have a better task
than listening to me illumine
How a truly great man has passed
But I’ll say it anyways
For those who wish to hear
I’ll never cease to be amazed
How you always gave me your ear
A shoulder to lean right on
And many a beer to drink
Workds of wisdom by the ton
To make me deeply think
You showed us how to love
and how to give your all
How to lift those around you up
Or offer a hand when they fall
You made a woman happy again
When hope had left her life
You showed her how much could be given
When you asked her to be your wife
Our eyes are opened by all you’ve done
You served your country with honor
You’re held in esteem by myself and your sons
And missed with a passion by your daughter
But now to that task which you endeavor
The one every Marine does demand
Guarding the streets of Heaven forever
With your rifle firmly in your hand.
