Bill Heidelbert's Obituary
Life Reflection
Bill Heidelberg was born in Shubuta, Mississippi on March 15, 1937. He was the son of the late Katie Mae Harris and Leroy Heidelberg who raised him in a Christian home. He was one of nine children; Charles, Alice Ruth, Willie Mae, Jeannie Mae, Cleo and Bennie who are already in heaven, ready to welcome him home with open arms. He leaves his two surviving sisters Nancy and Annie, to mourn him. He will also be missed by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Bill moved to Sacramento in 1975 to be near his beloved mother and the rest of the family. He quickly adjusted to his new home by finding employment in the construction industry, made friends and set about the business of enjoying life. He took pride in his appearance, and loved socializing, meeting new people (especially the ladies) and establishing new relationships. Bill was very outgoing, independent and constantly on the go. Later in life he lost his sight, due to illness but did not let that deter him. He continued to dress smartly for church and social gatherings, and was eager to get out of the house so that he could be around other people. His niece, Betty Harris was instrumental in him maintaining his independence by coordinating his care, which made it possible for him to live on his own until be was too sick to live by himself. In spite of this setback, Bill continued to view life with a positive attitude.
