Betty Pollock's Obituary
POLLOCK, BettyOf Carmichael, on March 9, 2006, age 85. Survived by children Roger (Jan), Barbara Kidd (Tom Downing), and Curtis; grandsons Mark (Lori) and Todd; and great-grandson Charlie; sisters Kay Boyers (Ed) and Marge LaRoche (George); brothers Louie (Kathy) and Jim Kraushar, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Gordon. Born in Neudorf, Saskatchewan, Canada, the third of ten children, Betty moved with her family to Sacramento in 1935. Betty attended Grant High School and worked for Chevron Oil until she married Gordon in 1946. She was a homemaker after the birth of their first child and spent many years involved with Cub Scouts, Camp Fire Girls and many of their children’s activities. Active in church activities, she served as wedding coordinator, established the first library at Gethsemane, lead several women’s groups and could be counted on to lead any effort. She loved crafts and dolls and crocheted countless baby items for friends and family. Betty and Gordon enjoyed a rich retirement, spending many days on the road traveling the country. She will be remembered for her love for her husband, devotion to her family, her active church life, and willingness to help others. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 4706 Arden Way, Tuesday, March 14th at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (P.O.
