Betty Ann McFarland-Daniel's Obituary
Betty Ann McFarland-Daniel was born in San Francisco, California to the proud parents of Joyce and Gustavus McFarland on August 30th, 1948. She was the first born of four children. Betty attended and graduated from Berkeley High School in 1966.
After graduation, Betty was employed with the State of California for over 25 years and was a loyal and respected employee.
Betty dedicated her life to Christ at an early age, at the Mount Zion Spiritual Temple in Oakland, California. She later united with the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in Sacramento, California.
Betty’s mother Joyce relocated to Sacramento, California where later Betty joined her and met the love of her life Earnest Daniel. In 1969 she married Earnest and their union lasted for over 39 years. To this union three children were born; Shannon, Kevin, and Felicia.
Betty loved family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. She loved preparing meals, baking, reading and knitting. She loved watching her grandchildren enjoying grandma’s food. Her favorite items that everyone enjoyed and requested were her famous zucchini bread and her lemon cake.
Betty was called home Tuesday, November 12th, 2013, after two years of illness. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Earnest Daniel, daughter Felicia Daniel; step daughter Francis Daniel; mother Joyce McFarland, father Gustavus McFarland and sister Diane Lee.
Betty leaves to cherish her memory her two sons, Shannon Daniel, Kevin Daniel; her daughter in laws Monique, Lawanda and Lorre; two brothers Gustavus McFarland Jr., Rev. Ronnie McFarland; one sister Gloria Lawson; three sisters in laws Joetta McFarland, Terry Kinsey and Claire Kinsey; three brothers in laws, Sam Kinsey, Willie Kinsey and John Kinsey; fourteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, five aunts Evelyn Lucas, Ethel Holmes, Doris Porter, Joyce Sneed, Gladine Jackson and one uncle Elder Charles Bryant Jr. She also has a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who will miss her dearly.
