Betty Hirschi's Obituary
Darrel and Betty Hirschi were married on February 16, l958.
They shared 61 beautiful years before they departed this earth to be with our Heavenly Father on December 1, 2019.
Their life together was an inspirational example of True Love and Christianity.
Darrel was born in Utah in 1937 and was the youngest of eight children. He had a career in the United States Air Force as a Radar Operator. During his 20 years of service he courageously flew 182 combat missions. During the last several years of his service in the United States Air Force he attended college and earned his teaching credentials. After his retirement from the military he began his second career as an elementary school teacher in Del Paso Heights, California.
Darrel was many things but above all he was a kind and loving man. His love for God and his family were foremost in his life. He was a strong Christian man with great faith in God. He was a member of the Church of Christ where he served as an elder for many years. Darrel’s love for people was contagious as well as his sense of humor. He was lighthearted and happy and loved helping all of those around him.
Betty was born in Tennessee in 1934 and was the third oldest out of eight children. Betty’s number one job was being a loving and caring mother to her 3 daughters. Outside of the home Betty’s career was an Instructional Aid at the Rio Linda Junior High School. Betty was full of energy and life and had many interests and talents. She was an amazing basketball player, an exceptional cook and cake decorator. She had a love for gardening, crafts (especially ceramics) and was a gifted seamstress. Above all she had a great love for God, her family, and people.
It was Betty’s love for God that led Darrel to become a Christian. Betty was full of love and warmth that she freely gave to all of those around her. You could feel her love for you from across the room just by the look on her face.
Darrel and Betty will be missed greatly. The bond that they shared while on this earth was held together by the power of God, love for each other, love for family and friends. To Darrel and Betty there was no such thing as a stranger, just a friend you have never met.
We are forever touched by their examples and they will live on forever in our hearts.
Darrel and Betty are survived by their 3 daughters Karen and her husband Bruce, Crystal, and Kimby, 7 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren, and 1 Great-Great-Grandchild.
Their Legacy Will Live On In Us All!
