Betty Jean Guerin, Our Beloved one passed away on March 17, 2018 at Vista Prado, Vallejo, California may she forever be linked to our hearts and souls. God came knocking and the windows opened up and her soul was freed
Born Betty Jean Locker on July 17, 1947 Chesapeake, Virginia to the proud parents of Melvin J. and Barbara J. Locker, she was one of nine children. Betty attended Crestwood High school and graduated class of 1967. After graduation Betty join the US Army and trained at Fort McClellan, AL for basic training after she completed her initial training she was transferred to Presidio of San Francisco, California where she worked as administrated Specialist at Letterman Army Hospital where she served three years of Honorable Service. In 1971 Betty met and married Connywill Guerin they had two beautiful sons Brandon Christopher and Brian Michael Guerin.
After military service Betty began her career working at Presidio in a civilian capacity she then worked at the federal mint reserve and finally at General Administrative Services where she had an illustrious career as a Director of Logistics for 30 years of service. After retiring Betty furthered her education by attending University of Phoenix with Bachelors in Business Management.
Thereafter she decided on another career by working with the Oakland Unified School District in Accounting Department. Betty volunteered her time and resources in purchasing equipment for multiple elementary schools while providing them with tools for further education. One of Betty’s greatest passions was being a Mother to her two loving sons who are the apple of her eye she also loved traveling and baking. Betty was a faithful member of Shiloh Church in Oakland, California for many years where she served as porter her Love for serving God was undeniable.
Preceding Betty in her March to Glory are her parents Melvin and Barbara Locker, Brothers Richard Prostell and Melvin Locker, Sister Elizabeth Prostell and her son Brian Michael Guerin. Her surviving siblings are Flora Locker (Texas), Connie Willis, Diane Walker, Belinda Walker (Norfolk, VA), Lucinda Jones (Maryland). Betty has a host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Aunts and Uncles who loved her deeply.
