Barton S. South Jr.'s Obituary
Barton S. South, Jr., born on November 16, 1950, made his grand entrance into glory on Thursday, June 14, 2018. He certainly found the Peace he so deserved.
Bart was a warrior who fought through his cancer with courage and love. Continually pushing forward to provide support for his family. He provided us with all we needed to insure we had great memories of our life together. As the head of our family he was strong and gentle and will forever be our Hero.
Exodus 31:3-5 “I have filled him with the Spirit of God, giving him great wisdom, intelligence and skill in all kinds of crafts.” could have been used to describe Bart as well as Bezalel. He loved his career as an Industrial Sewing Machine Technician and his expertise was highly sought after. He was a gifted musician on several instruments but the guitar was his favorite. He loved woodworking, metal machining and leather crafting. He planted and grew a wonderful vegetable garden each year, loved to cook, and to BBQ. He did all his own car repairs, house repairs and toy (lol) repairs. He enjoyed collecting trains, marbles, rocks and geodes, kites, guitars, movies and games. Ocean camping was his favorite vacation destination and he loved walking the beach searching for treasures or just relaxing listening to the waves beat upon the sand.
As a Vietnam Veteran he was proud to have served and grateful to the VA for the excellent health care they provided.
Survived by his wife – Teddie; daughter – Elisa Piazza; two sons – Tyson Taber and Steffan South, his sister – Bobbie McCalister; seven grandchildren – Tiphany Dearing-Pittman, Christopher Piazza, Simeon Piazza, Crimson Piazza, Kennedy Taber, Gabriel South, Flora South, a Greatgrandson – Grayson Piazza and a Greatgranddaughter soon to be born.
Preceded in death by his father Barton Stanley South, his mother Dallas Francis South, and sister, Colette South.
Memorial services on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at the Highlands Missionary Baptist Church at 4130 Baptist Court, North Highlands, CA.
