Audrey Elaine Guthrie's Obituary
Audrey Elaine Guthrie, age 91, of RIo Linda passed peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, August 27, 2023. Born in Ottumwa, Ia on April 12, 1932 to Lloyd Francis and Josephine Cecilia Kendall. She grew up in Ottumwa, graduating from Ottumwa high school. She married Warren Guthrie and they made their way to Rio Linda, California where they raised their family.
Audrey was a homemaker who loved working outside and growing her very large gardens, canning, sewing and baking. She was very active in her children's lives as they were growing up, whether it was in the classroom, 4-H leader, or chauffeur. After her children were raised, she worked at Rio Linda School district in the kitchen. She loved the children, and found it very rewarding, working until the age of 71. She enjoyed playing Bingo, playing slots at the casino, and dinners with family.
Family meant everything to Audrey and she showed it in her love for her children and grandchildren. The matriarch of our family, she will be missed immensely.
A longtime member of Our Lady of Lourdes church. She believed in the power of prayer and praying the rosary.
Audrey is survived by her daughter Tamara Lasich(David)and two grand-daughters Ashley Dunlop and Sara Dunlop, many nieces and nephews, all of who she loved dearly.
Preceded in death by husband Warren, daughter Kelly Jo, sons Allan and Reginald, grand-son Andrew, parents Lloyd and Josephine and sisters Dora, Barbara and Lloydean.
Service will be held on Friday, September 22, 2023 at 11:00AM at Sunset Lawn Cemetery 4701 Marysville Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95838.
