Audrey DeRemer's Obituary
Audrey Clarice DeRemer of Sacramento, California passed away early in August this year at age 63.
She was born in Little Rock Arkansas on December 27, 1954. Audrey graduated from Leigh High School and received a degree from West Valley College.
She had one daughter Victoria, whom she raised as a single parent. Audrey spent her days volunteering at a retreat center in Los Gatos, California until moving to Sacramento in 2009 in order to live near her father and take care of him in his later years.
She loved spending time her family and friends, particularly her two grandsons who were her pride and joy. One of her past times was taking care of and relaxing with her cats. She also enjoyed reading the bible and spiritual books.
She lived a simple Catholic life and was generous with her time, visiting nursing homes and the sick. She also was very much involved in her church in Sacramento, volunteering her time in the school and church. She also prayed many hours in front of abortion clinics and promoted the pro-life cause.
Although she suffered from mental illness most of her life, she gave herself to help others. Her love for God showed through her exemplary life of prayer and sacrifice. God was ever present in her life and daily actions. She had a great devotion to Our Lady and loved praying the rosary. Although very simple in her life, she did everything to the best of her ability. The essence of simplicity gave her qualities that shined out to others. She always greeted everyone with a smile and hello. She remembered everyone’s names and prayed for those who asked for prayer. May we ever learn from a life well lived centered around God!
She is survived by her daughter Victoria McQuade, son-in-law David, grandchildren Sebastian and Isaiah, sisters Betty, Patricia, and Georgia and brothers Lon and Michael.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Betty Tyson and her sisters Carolyn and Anne.
A funeral Mass will be said at 10 AM on August 20th, 2018 at St. Michael’s Church in Carmichael, California followed by interment at Sunset Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
