Angel Delgadillo's Obituary
DELGADILLO, AngelPassed peacefully at home Dec 21 in Sacramento. He was 99. Angel, born in El Paso, Texas was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 62 years, Maria. The cherished father of Lino Delgadillo (Irma), Rita Delgadillo-Boyd (Mike), Angel Delgadillo (Nina) and Jose Delgadillo (Estrella). The loving grandfather of Christina Schuler (Gary) & Celina Delgadillo. The devoted great grandfather of Steven, Diego, Mateo, Isabella, Samantha, Gabriel, Kendyl & Mason. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Angel was the remaining survivor of the Delgadillo family that arrived in Sacramento in 1926. Preceded in death by his parents Deciderio and Simona, brothers Deciderio, Arturo, sisters Guadalupe, Ernestina and Evangelina. Angel was a WWII veteran serving in the infantry of the US Army's 7th Division. He was deployed to the pacific Theater where he saw action in six major battles. After his military service, Angel was employed by the Southern Pacific Railroad where he retired after a 30 year career. Angel and Maria built their home and raised their family in the small community of Gardenland. Angel touched the lives of so many and will be missed deeply by all who knew and loved him. Angel was a man of strong principle. His legacy will live through his family. We were blessed to have him ad our father. Family and friends are invited to the viewing and prayer on Jan 3 6pm, Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Jan 4, 10am, St Joseph's Church, North Sacramento: Interment St Mary's Cemetery. A reception will follow the services at the Howe Avenue Recreation Center, 2001 Cottage Way, Sacramento.
