A.J. Vint's Obituary
AJ Vint, 79, of Sacramento, peacefully entered into rest on Wednesday, June 13th, 2012, due to complications from pneumonia while recuperating at Sutter Medical Center in Sacramento. AJ was born March 23, 1933 in Lonoke, Arkansas, and was a retired truck driver in Sacramento. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mattie Mary Frances Poore and Andrew Jack Vint of Arkansas, brother Billy Vint of Arkansas, and his former wife Eva L. Elliott Vint of Sacramento. He is also preceded in death by his half siblings Alvin McGarity, Lorene Willie McGarity, Earnest J. McGarity, Paul Woodrow McGarity, Pearl Ruby McGarity, all of Arkansas, and Bud McGarity of Sacramento. Mr. Vint is survived by his loving wife Doris Jean Vint of Sacramento, and his children, Debra Lynn Vint of Sacramento, Johnnie Ray Vint (Teresa) of Riverside, Michael Lee Vint (Anna) of Salmon, Idaho, Edward Jay Vint of San Jose, and Alan J. Vint (Paula) of Brandon, Florida. He is survived by two sisters, Idell Vint Burkett of Arkansas, and Gracie Vint of Arkansas, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and grandchildren. In his younger days AJ loved to fish with his good friend Joe Cosgrove, now deceased; he was an avid fan of boxing, and he loved to ride his many motorcycles. He was a tinkerer and loved to build things. He will be greatly missed. Funeral services for AJ will be held Tuesday, June 19, 2012, 10:00 a.m. at Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes, 4701 Marysville Blvd., Sacramento, CA, with a viewing Monday evening from 4-8p.m.
