Robert James Gleghorn's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our precious Rob on Saturday, May 11, 2024 in Rio Linda, California. Rob was born in October 1970 in La Mesa, California.
Rob is preceded in death by his grandparents Surtes & Mary Gleghorn, and Jason & Myrtle Gaa. He is survived by his parents Steve & Jan Gleghorn; his sister Stephanie (Gleghorn) Hlavac; his brother Daniel Gleghorn and niece Lily.
Rob was born with Down Syndrome but we prefer to this of it as Up Syndrome. He didn't let it hold him back, and he lived a full life. Rob loved everybody, loved to dance, when it came to swimming you couldn't get him out of the pool, he loved to bowl, rollerskate, and watch ESPN and the TV series "Emergency"--he absolutely adored the Fire Department. Rob thoroughly enjoyed sports and could imitate a baseball umpire with precision. He loved to call you out!
Rob's sense of humor kept us laughing; his quick wit would catch us off-guard but it was always honest and "spot on". Sometimes, he didn't have to say a word because his expressions would speak for him. And you had better not try to take his cap away from him or reach for his food; although he may eye your plate!
Rob was God's gift of himself to us for 53 years! We are so thankful that he was loved and accepted by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate to the American Juvenile Diabetes Association.
