Dorothy Irene James' Obituary
JAMES, DOROTHY IRENE entered into rest May 12, 2013 in Elverta, California at the age of 84. She was born June 1, 1928 in Fruita, Colorado, to Joe and Margaret Dalley. She was the 2nd of 10 children. Dorothy attended Fruita High School, and after graduation she began a career as a waitress. She retired in 1986 after working as a waitress for 40 years. After retirement she was involved in helping her family. Dorothy married Elmo Patterson in 1946, then met Dallas James and they married in 1950. She was a member of Elverta prayer group and Emmaus. She was also involved in the Red Hat Ladies Club. Dorothy was a loving, caring and compassionate woman. She was also very giving and strong. The most important events in her life were the birth of her 2 sons, Jesse R James, and William Patterson. She enjoyed gambling and watching NASCAR. She also enjoyed listening to music; her favorite song was Cab Driver by Mills Bros. Dorothy is survived by her loving sons, Jesse R James, and William Patterson. She is also survived by her siblings, Jane Parish, Jimmy Dalley, Ginger Womack, Rodney Dalley, Myrna McGrandahan, Catherine Pixler, and Tish Munoz, grandchildren Carrie Lynn McDonald, Melissa James, Shiloh Berry, Chantel James and great grandchildren Gwen, Caden, and Benjamin. She is preceded in death by her husband Dallas James, parents Joe and Margaret Dalley, her brother Joe Dalley, and one infant baby brother. Services will be held June 1, 2013 at 10:00am at Elverta United Methodist Church 7861 Elmont Ave. Elverta Ca. 95626. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Mercy Hospice of Sacramento.
