Robert Brandon Cunningham
May 3, 1961 – July 20, 2016

Robert Brandon Cunningham, 55, was born May 3, 1961, in St Louis, MO. to Laverna Malone & Ben Williams.
Robert, affectionately known as “C-Ham”, joined the U.S. Army in October 1979 and served honorably for 21 years as a Human Resources Specialist until his retirement in April 2000. After his retirement, C-Ham settled in Sacramento, California to raise his daughter, Chamille, and continued his career as a Human Resources professional. He later went to work for the Army Corp of Engineers until his untimely passing on July 21, 2016.
C-Ham was a devoted father, a loyal friend, and an avid Raider’s fan. His clever antidotes and sense of humor endeared him to many. He was a man of uncompromising values and lived by a code of conduct where honesty and integrity reigned supreme.
C-Ham is preceded in death by his beloved grandfather parents, John D. and Rose Marie Cunningham. He leaves behind two daughters, Chamille Cunningham Adams (Lonzo Adams) and Ryen Cunningham; his mother, Laverna Malone; his father, Ben Williams, two brothers, Tommie Cunningham and Paul Malone; three sisters, Debra Malone, Carla Malone, and Pamela Malone: his beloved grandsons (Micah Cunningham and Gabriel Adams) and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
I AM FREE
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free,
I’m following paths God made for me
I took his hand I heard him call
Then turned and bid farewell to all
I could not stay another day
To laugh, to love, to sing, to play
Tasks left undone must stay that way
I found my peace… at close of play
And if my parting left a void
Then fill it with remembered joy
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened… deep with sorrow
I wish you sunshine of tomorrow
My life’s been full; I’ve savored much
Good friends, good times
A loved one’s touch
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don’t lengthen it now with grief
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wants me now… He set me free.
