Richard C. Lauther

Richard C. Lauther, aged 72, passed away peacefully at home on April 8, 2016. He was born October 29, 1943 in Parkland, PA, the youngest of five children. After graduating from Neshaminy High he joined the Army where he served three years. He joined the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Department as a Deputy Sheriff, retiring as a Sergeant after thirty years. During retirement Rick loved playing golf, and even got a Hole in One on the 12th hole at Wildhawk as a member of SIR Branch 150 Golf Club. His other love was football. He played in 7 Pig Bowls with the Sheriff’s Dept. In 1997 he was inducted into the Neshaminy High School Football Hall of Fame. Rick was a family man. Married to Catherine for 48 years with four children, Daniel, Andria, Sarah (Steven), and Mary (Jason). He was a proud grandfather to 9 grandchildren and brother to John Lauther of Elk Grove, Gerald Lauther of New Hampshire, and Margaret Ramos of Sacramento. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother James Lauther. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, May 2, 11:30AM, at Heritage Park Clubhouse Ballroom, 2481 Heritage Park Ln. Sacramento.
