On April 13, 2016 Louise (Garvin) Hoggatt, 79, of Sacramento, CA was called upon to be with the Lord. She died following a long illness related to repeated strokes, high blood pressure. kidney and cardiologic health complications on Tuesday, April 13, 2016. At the time of her death she was in the arms of her youngest daughter Brenda Johnson also of Sacramento, California. She gave her daughter her last breath. Louise Hoggatt lived a happy and blessed life- always seeking to help others and show interest in the lives of her many family members, neighbors and friends. Louise was born in Gainesville FL to Arthur and Ommie Garvin. One of thirteen children, Louise of the twelveth child out of the thirteen. Louise was one of seven sisters and had six brothers.Louise also was unique in the fact that she was atwin sister to Lillian Garvin whom she adored. They were the only twins in the family. Louise never minded meeting a stranger and making them feel
welcome as an opportunity to get to know them as a friend. Louise attended Florida and California public schools and worked as a caregiver in Southern California. In her early years Louise became a full time mother and wife. She was married to Marvin Hoggatt Sr. of Elwood, Kansas. Louise is survived by seven children (Michael, Marvin Jr., Cynthia, Stephanie, Brenda and Ricky), Twenty Eight grandchildren, Thirty three great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild and
nineteen Nieces and Nephews. Louise was a long time member of the South Sacramento Christian Center and rose to acclaim in the Congregation as Church Mother. She was a devoted Wife, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great- Great Grandmother to her family which she cherished greatly, Louise was the inspiration of the Hoggatt Family – The Matriarch and will be assuredly missed by all who she touched with her magnetic personality and
gentleness. She had a smile that was riveting and a personality that was contagious. Louise left her Family the gift of Love which she freely gave to all she touched. We all know that she was a gift from God and gave many the gift of Love. She gave her offspring the Gift of Life. Louise always looked out for others often sacrificing herself for the benefit of others. She always spoke in a kind and positive manner to all she met or came in contact with and had a Heart that would light up the room. Even near the end of her life she was more concerned for the well-being of her family over her own sickness.
